Terms of Service

Last updated: July 10, 2026

1. The service

ClipWisp is a clip-generation service: you give it a long-form video — an upload or a link — and it transcribes the audio, scores moments worth posting, and renders selected candidates as captioned, publish-ready clips. The same functionality is available through the web app and through a programmatic API for AI agents, including a CLI and an MCP server. These Terms apply regardless of which interface you use.

2. Accounts and API keys

You sign in with a Google account, which creates a ClipWisp account tied to that identity. You are responsible for all activity under your account, including anything done with an API key you generate. Keys are scoped to your account and your quotas — treat them like a password: don't share them, don't commit them to source control, and revoke a key immediately from Settings if you suspect it has leaked.

3. Subscription, trial, and billing

ClipWisp offers three subscription plans — Starter, Pro, and Studio — billed through Stripe, monthly or annually (annual billing is charged once a year at ten times the monthly price). Every plan includes the full product; plans differ only in usage quotas. New subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial; a payment method is required up front, and unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription and your card is charged.

During the trial, render usage is capped at 15 minutes total — a lifetime allowance for the trial period, not a daily or monthly renewal. Once you're on a paid subscription, that cap is replaced by a monthly render-minute allowance (see Quotas below) that resets on the first day of each UTC calendar month.

You can cancel anytime from the billing portal, linked from Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access through the period you've already paid for, and we don't provide prorated refunds for partial periods.

4. Quotas and fair use

Every plan is metered: render minutes per month, candidate-generation scans per day, and source creations per day. Limits are enforced per account, not per device or per interface — API usage draws from the same pool as the web app. We may adjust quota numbers going forward; published limits at any given time are the ones that apply. Attempting to circumvent quotas (e.g. via multiple accounts, automated abuse of free-trial signups, or deliberately overloading the API) is a violation of these Terms.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the videos you submit and the clips, titles, thumbnails, and other artifacts ClipWisp generates from them. We process your content solely to provide the service to you — transcription, candidate scoring, rendering, and packaging — and claim no ownership or independent license over it beyond what's needed to run the pipeline and store the results so you can retrieve them.

6. YouTube and third-party sources

If you point ClipWisp at a YouTube URL, you are responsible for making sure your use complies with YouTube's own Terms of Service — including rights to the underlying video. ClipWisp is a tool for creators to repurpose content they have the right to repurpose; it is not a general-purpose downloading or redistribution service, and we don't assume responsibility for how a submitted source was obtained or licensed.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use ClipWisp to process or generate content that is:

  • Infringing on someone else's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights;
  • Unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise in violation of applicable law; or
  • Used to abuse, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, or to evade the quotas described above.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

ClipWisp is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that transcription, scoring, or rendering will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClipWisp's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Termination

You may stop using ClipWisp and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, or fail to pay. On termination, your right to use the service ends immediately; data handling after termination follows the retention schedule in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the product changes. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use ClipWisp after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts competent for the seat of the operator in Poland. If you are a consumer in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
