Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

  • Account data — your email address and name from Google Sign-In, plus a device identifier used to issue and validate your session.
  • Your content — the video URLs and files you submit, the transcripts generated from them, and the artifacts ClipWisp produces (candidates, rendered clips, titles, thumbnails, and other packaging output).
  • Usage metrics — render minutes consumed, scans run, sources created, and API calls made, so we can meter quotas and keep the service healthy.

2. Who processes it on our behalf

We use the processors below to run the service. Some are used only when the relevant feature or backend is configured, so not every one handles data on every request. We don't hand your data to anyone beyond what each of these needs to do its job:

  • Google — OAuth sign-in.
  • Stripe — billing and payment processing; ClipWisp never sees or stores your full card number.
  • OpenAI — transcription and the AI models behind candidate scoring, summaries, and generated packaging text.
  • VidNavigator and RapidAPI — transcript retrieval for sources you add by URL; they receive the video URL or ID so they can return or generate its transcript.
  • Google Gemini — thumbnail image generation from prompts derived from your clips, when thumbnail generation is configured.
  • AudioPod — audio extraction from your source media, when it is configured as the extraction backend.
  • Cloudflare R2 — object storage for source media and rendered artifacts, where remote storage is configured (otherwise artifacts are stored on our own servers).

3. What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.
  • We don't train our own or third-party models on your video content or transcripts.

4. Retention

Source media and generated artifacts aren't kept forever — they're removed on a rolling schedule once they age out: rendered clips after roughly 30 days, and source media and cached YouTube/transcript data after roughly 7 days. If you ask us to delete your account (see Your rights, below), we remove the account record and associated content rather than retaining it indefinitely.

5. Cookies

ClipWisp sets a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

6. Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion of your account and its associated data at any time by contacting us below. We'll respond and act on verified requests without undue delay.
